The Wiper Democratic Movement has dismissed claims that party leader Kalonzo Musyoka secretly met President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Wiper Deputy Minority Leader Enock Wambua called the reports false. He insisted that Kalonzo has no plans to work with President Ruto.
Wambua Denies Meeting Claims
Wambua said no meeting took place between Kalonzo and the President.
He also rejected reports claiming the two leaders discussed a political alliance.
“There was no meeting, and there is no plan to have such a meeting. If Ruto met a man in State House called Kalonzo, then that man was not Kalonzo Musyoka,” Wambua said.
Wiper Stands by Opposition Coalition
Meanwhile, Wambua said Kalonzo remains committed to the United Alternative coalition.
He claimed the government is spreading the rumours because it sees Kalonzo as a major political challenger.
He added that opposition leaders have agreed to support the candidate they choose for the 2027 presidential race.
Wambua also described Kalonzo as an experienced leader. He said the Wiper leader would not sacrifice the interests of Kenyans for personal gain.
Videos Fuel Online Rumours
The response came after videos circulated on social media claiming Kalonzo met President Ruto at State House.
The videos also claimed Kalonzo offered to become Ruto’s running mate in the 2027 General Election.
However, Wiper rejected the claims. The party insisted that neither the meeting nor the alleged talks ever happened.
