Police identified the suspects as Godwin Kimathi, Mbaabu’s brother, and Beth Muthomi, who is related to both the deceased and the first suspect.
Investigators allege that the killing was linked to a long-running dispute over land.
Authorities claim the pair worked with Solomon Kathurima Kairemia, who had already been arrested in September.
Detectives say communication records showed contact between the suspects before and after the attack, which they believe points to prior coordination.
Murder case moves to court
The two latest suspects have already appeared in court.
They were ordered to remain in custody pending mental assessments and are expected to take plea on November 4, 2026.
The first suspect, Solomon Kathurima Kairemia, was arrested on September 22 after investigators made progress in the case.
Police continue investigations
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations says inquiries are still ongoing as detectives pursue further leads.
Authorities are seeking to establish the full circumstances surrounding the murder and determine whether any other people were involved.
The DCI also expressed condolences to Mbaabu’s family and relatives following her death.
