Edwin Sifuna Draws Massive Crowds in Western Kenya, Fueling Succession Debate

Edwin Sifuna’s two-day tour of Western Kenya attracted large crowds and sparked fresh political debate.

During the visit, the Nairobi Senator and Linda Mwananchi movement leader toured several towns across the region.

Before the rallies, his team mobilised supporters through social media campaigns and media interviews.

At each stop, Sifuna spoke about governance, leadership, and his political vision.

Thousands Turn Out for Rallies

From early morning, supporters gathered in places such as Moi’s Bridge in Trans Nzoia County.

Meanwhile, many waved flags, blew vuvuzelas, and lined the roads to welcome him.

The crowds included youth, boda boda riders, traders, students, and parents.

In some areas, supporters climbed nearby buildings and other structures to watch him address the gatherings.

As a result, the tour became one of Sifuna’s biggest public events in recent months.

Tour Follows Political Challenges

The rallies also came after a difficult period in Sifuna’s political career.

Earlier, he lost his position as ODM Secretary-General.

In addition, some party leaders publicly criticised him.

Despite these challenges, Sifuna urged supporters to back the Linda Mwananchi movement.

Soon after, clips of his speeches spread across social media and sparked widespread discussion.

Supporters Donate and Engage Online

Besides attending the rallies, many supporters donated through the movement’s official paybill number.

At the same time, others shared photos, videos, and messages from the events online.

In Bungoma County, several residents handed cash donations directly to Sifuna.

According to supporters, the gesture reflected their confidence in his leadership.

Meanwhile, a post on Sifuna’s official X account attracted thousands of likes and hundreds of thousands of views.

Debate Over Political Future

Following the tour, debate over Sifuna’s political future has intensified.

While some supporters believe he could carry forward Raila Odinga’s political legacy, others argue it is still too early to identify ODM’s next leader.

Nevertheless, the Western Kenya tour highlighted Sifuna’s ability to attract large crowds and remain a key figure in Kenya’s political landscape.
